| - Objectives: This clinical study is to report the effect of Korean medicine on patient with hot flushing - Methods: A patient who suffered from hot flushing was treated with herbal medicine 'Gami Ahnjeonbaekho-tang', acupuncture, moxibustion and pharmaco-acupuncture. Degree and frequency of flushing were measured. Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) was used to estimate the temperature of skin surface for the outcome assessment - Results: After taking Gami Ahnjeonbaekho-tang, degree and frequency of hot flushing reduced and skin temperature of patient was reduced on DITI. - Conclusion: This clinical case study showed the effect of Korean medicine on hot flushing |

| - Objective : The purpose of this clinical study is to evaluate the effect of Traditional Korean Medicine(TKM) on a patient with pain induced by Trigeminal neuralgia. - Methods : A patient with pain of one side face diagnosed with Trigeminal neuralgia was treated with herbal medication, acupuncture, electro-acupuncture(EA), and moxibution. Then we evaluated the improvement by Pain area comparison and Visual Analog Scale(VAS). - Results : Decrease of Pain area, VAS score were observed after the TKM treatment. - Conclusions : This study proved the effect of TKM treatment on pain due to Trigeminal neuralgia. |

| This report is about two cases of aphasia without hemiparesis after stroke. Most of aphasia after stroke accompanies hemiparesis. However, aphasia without hemiparesis after stroke occurs rarely and only a few cases have been reported. We used Korean herbal medication, acupuncture, language therapy. To evaluate speech ability we used K-WAB(Korean version of Western Aphasia Battery) and word span test. After treatment, patients' word span abilities and language abilities including reading, writing, speaking were improved. This report suggests that Korean medicine and language therapy could have a therapeutic effect for aphasia without hemiparesis after stroke. |

| This patient was 18 year-old man who had severe nausea, vomiting, stomachache but medical examination revealed no abnormality. The symptom lasted for 2 months and he lost 15kilograms. The patient had no underlying diseases. He was treated by korean medicine, containing acupuncture, cupping therapy and herb medicines during 9 days. The severity of nausea was scored by the Numerous Rating Scale and the frequency of vomitng was evaluated by count. After that period, patient’s symptom was improved and his other conditions were also better, compared with his admission. This study suggests that Korean medicine could have a therapeutic effect for nausea, vomiting, stomachache and rapid weight loss that the cause has not been diagnosed by Western medicine. It could help to improve patient’s symptoms and make general conditions better. |
