Literary Review on the Acupuncture and Moxibustion Therapy of Hypertension

Purpose : The purpose of this research is to investigate Acupuncture and Moxibustion treatments of hypertension with the ancient and the present literature.
Methods : We extracted the parts of acupuncture and moxibustion treatments of hypertension from ancient and modern oriental medical literature. We have got compared and analyzed 31 kinds of books since Nei Jing≪內經≫.
Results and Conclusions : The acupoints used frequently for hypertension were Gok-ji(LI10), Chok-samni(S36) Nae-Gan(PC6), Pong-ji(GB20), Hap-kok(LI4), Yangnūngch’ōn(G34), Samumgyo(SP6), Tae-yang.

A study of the reduction of lordosis of the cervical and lumbar spine.

Objective : To study the main reasons, x-ray film measurement methods, and the relativity between measurements and the reduction of hypolordosis of the cervical and lumbar spine.
Methods : Research was done using 6 internet sites and also through Kyunghee medical center medical library and Kyunghee university medical library.
Conclusion : 1. Reduction of lordosis of the cervical and lumbar spine occurs because of degeneration, muscle imbalance, other spinal curvatures, posture and other diseases.
2. The methods of measuring cervical spine curvature are the Four-line Cobb Method, Depth of cervical curve, Jackson’s angle, Ishihara Index, Jochumsen method, Mayoux-Benhamou Method, Park Sang Wook Method, Harrison Posterior Tangent Method.
3. The methods of measuring lumbar spine curvature are the Cobb Method(Two-line, Four-line), Centroid method, TRALL method, Harrison Posterior Tangent Method, Tangent circle technique.
4. When measuring the cervical spine [C2-C7] coefficient of correlation was higher than [C1-C7] with the Cobb method. Posterior tangent method was more reliable than the Cobb Method . Studies also show coefficient of correlation were high between methods.
5. When measuring the lumbar spine [L1-L5] coefficient of correlation was higher than [L1-S1] with the Cobb method. Studies also show coefficient of correlation were high between observers.

Objectives : This report was performed to evaluate effect by the treatment of Bee venum acupuncture with other treatments like (herbal meditation-Gamimankumtang) in Stenosis and Herniation of Nucleus Pulposus.
Methods : One patient diagnosed as Stenosis and Herniation of Nucleus Pulposus was treated with Bee venum acupuncture, herbal meditation(Gamimankumtang).
Results : After 4 weeks Bee venum acupuncture, herbal meditation theraphy, remarkable improvement was made for Stenosis and Herniation of Nucleus Pulposus.
Conclusion : Bee venum acupuncture, herbal meditation theraphy is effective in treatment for Stenosis and Herniation of Nucleus Pulposus.

3 Anti-inflammatory Action of Herbal-acupuncture of Ulmus Davidiana Planch Water Extract by Administration of Sinsu-loci Subcutaneously in Adjuvant Induced Arthritis Rat Model 강미숙․김갑성 2006-01-01 ~ 학회지
Adjuvant로 유도된 생쥐의 관절염(AIA) 모델에서 유근피 약침의 항염증작용에 관한 연구

목적 : 한의학에서 항염, 항암 작용에 널리 이용되는 유근피가 약침제제로서 Adjuvant로 유도된 생쥐의 관절염 모델에서 미치는 영향을 연구하고자 하였다.
방법 : Complete Freund’s adjuvant(CFA) 300㎕를 10-12주된 rats(Sprague Dawley Stain)에 주사하여 염증을 유발시키고, 8개의 군으로 나누어 유근피(UD)약침 및 DEX(Dexamethasone)를 腎兪穴(BL23)에 皮下로 시행하였다. 염증의 정도와 治療에 대한 反應은 炎症 발생 후 제1, 7, 14, 21 및 제28일째에 각각의 부종의 감소 정도, lymphocyte proliferation, 조직학적 변화 등으로 평가하였다.
결과 : 1. 임상적 평가에서 대조군에 비해 UD와 DEX 치료군에서 後足部 浮腫의 현저한 감소를 보였다.
2. 세포매개성 면역에서는 대조군에 비해 7일째는 UD와 DEX 치료군(당일, 5일 전)에서, 14일째는 UD와 DEX 치료군(당일, 5일 전, 10일 후)에서, 21일째에는 모든 군에서 lymphocyte proliferation에서 현저한 억제효과가 있었고, 28일째에는 변화를 볼 수 없었다.
3. 조직학적 평가에서는 유근피 약침 치료군에서 연골미란, 골파괴, 활막비후가 덜 하였고, 단핵구 세포 침윤은 매주 적었다.
결론 : 본 연구에서 유근피는 관절염 급성기에 현저한 항염 활성과 면역억제를 보이며 이를 통해 관절염 치료와 예방에 탁월한 효과가 인정되고 향후 다각적 연구를 통해 관절염 치료제로서 활용할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.
