| Title : The effects of Korean medicine treatment for coccyx fractures caused by a traffic accidents; A case report Objective : This study aims to present effective results in terms of pain reduction in a patient with coccyx fractures after a traffic accident. Method: During hospitalization, one patient was treated with acupuncture, pharmoacupuncture, and herbal medicines. The patient's condition was evaluated regularly using NRS, EQ-5D, ODI, and ROM. Result : After treatment, pain was reduced, and the values of NRS, EQ-5D, and ODI were also improved. In addition, the subjective symptoms were also improved. Conclusion : One patient with coccyx fracture after a traffic accident showed improvement in NRS, EQ-5D, and ODI levels after Korean medicine treatment. | Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of combined Korean medicine treatment for a patient complaining dyspnea and chest pain diagnosed with multiple rib fracture. Methods : A 66-year-old female inpatient was treated with acupuncture, electroacupuncture, pharmacopuncture, moxi bustion, herbal medicine, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation(TENS) and wet cupping. Dyspnea was assessed using the mMRC scale, chest X-ray, chest circumstance and pain was assessed by dosage of analgesics. The patient was treated and observed from May 5 to May 16, 2022. Results : After the treatment, EQ-5D, mMRC, dosage of analgesics decreased. Also, chest X-ray showed resolving bilateral pleural effusion, improving subsegmental atelectasis. Conclusions: The results suggest that combined Korean medicine treatment can be a possible option for dyspnea and chest pain caused by multiplerib fracture after traffic accident. | Objesctives : The purpose of this study is to report the effectiveness of Korean Medicine including Gamidaeganghwal-tang in a patient with Medial meniscus tear. Methods : The patient received herbal medicine, pharmacopuncture and acupuncture treatment for 21 days. To evaluate symptom changes, Western Ontario and McMast er Universities Arthritis Index(WOMAC index), The numeric rating scale(NRS), and Life-5 Dimensions scale(EQ-5D) were measured. Results : Western Ontario and McMast er Universities Arthri tis Index(WOMAC index) decreased from 53 to 29 and The numeric rating scale(NRS) decreased from 7 to 3. Life-5 Dimensions scale(EQ-5D) increased from 0.677 to 0.72. Conclusion : The results suggest that Korean medical treatment is effective in the management of a patient with medial meniscus tear. | Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effects of Korean Me di cal complex therapy for a patient with medial and lateral epicondylitis induced left elbow pain and restricted active range of moti on at the left elbow. Methods : The patient was treated with Korean medical complex therapy including burning acupuncture, acupuncture, Kinesio taping. The treatment was conducted from 13th August, 2022 to 19th August, 2022. Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand(DASH), Patient-Rated Tennis Elbow Evaluation(PRTEE), Visual Analog Scale(VAS) were used to evalute effects of the therapy. Results : After treatments, scores of DASH, PRTEE corresponding to function of elbow were decresed. On the other hand, ones of PRTEE corresponding to pain of elbow and scores of VAS were incresed. Conclusions : Treating medial and lateral epicondylitis with Korean Medical complex therapy could improve function and movement of elbow even pain was incresed.
