| Objectives : The objective of this study is to report 1 patient who had compression fracture of lumbar spine after fall accident, that had korean medicine treatment. Methods : A female patient diagnosed as compression fracture of lumbar spine was treated with korean medicine treatment. To evaluate the effects of treatment, Numeral Rating Scale(NRS) score, Oswestry Disability Index(ODI) score and Pain-Free Walking Distances (PFWDs) were used. Results : After receiving 26 days of admission treatment, patient showed a significant decrease in NRS, ODI scores and increase in PFWDs. Conclusions : Korean medicine treatment can be effective on patients with compression fracture of lumbar spine. However, more treatment case studies need to be done. | Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of combined Korean medicine treatment on progressive foot drop due to lumbar disc herniation in a 60-year-old female patient with left ow back pain, left lower extremity pain and progressive muscle weakness Methods : From February 11 to March 25, 2022, the patient was treated wi th acupuncture, electroacupuncture, motion style acupucture therapy(MSAT), pharmacopuncture(Sinba ro2) and herbal medicine(Chung p a j eon). To evaluate the effect of these treatments, this case was measured by Numer al Rating Scale(NRS), Oswestry Disability Index(ODI), EuroQol-5 Dimension(EQ-5D) and Manual Muscle Test MMT). Results : After treatments of combined Korean medicine treatment, NRS of left low back pain decreased from 6 to 3, NRS of left lower extremity pain decreased from 6 to 3, ODI decreased from 28 to 4.44, EQ-5D increased from 0.707 to 0.858, and MMT decreased from 4 to 2+ and then increased to 4+. Conclusions : This study suggests that combined Korean medicine treatment can be effective for reducing sympt oms related to progressive foot drop due to lumbar disc herniation and helpful to muscl e rehabilitation. | Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of combined Korean medical treatments, especially Bee-venom pharmacopuncture for a patient with low back pain and radiation pain caused by acute compression fracture and intervertebral discrupture. Methods : A 58-year-old male patient was treated with Korean medical treatments including acupuncture, Bee-venom pharmacopuncture, herbal medicine, moxi bust i on, and cupping treatment from October 7th 2021 to October 30th 2021. Changes of the sympt oms were evaluated by NRS, ODI, and EQ-5D. Results : After treatments, the patient's NRS, ODI, and EQ-5D were improved. NRS of low back pain decreased from 8 to 0 and NRS of radiating pain decreased from 9 to 1. ODI score decreased from 88.9 to 35.6 and EQ-5D score increased from 0.21 to 0.76. Conclusions : The results show that combined Korean medical treatments including Bee-venom pharmacopuncture could be an effective way to relieve low back pain and radiating pain induced by acute compression fracture and intervertebral discrupture. | Objectives : The aim of this study is to report the effects of combined Korean Medical treatments for a patient with systemic lupus erythematosus complaining of multiple joints pain. Methods : The inpatient was treated with complex Korean Medical care including acupuncture therapy and herbal medicine. Acupuncture therapy was done on the joint and muscle. Herbal medicine treatment was treated with Bulhwangeumjeonggisaŋ-gamibang diagnose as dampness-stagnation. Patient’s symptom and quality of life were evaluated by Numeral Rating scale (NRS), Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC) physical function and EuroQol-5 dimension (EQ-5D). The treatments were conducted once everyday from 9th October, 2021 to 26th October, 2021. Results : After 20 days of admission treatments, patient’s NRS, WOMAC physical function and EQ-5D (VAS) were improved. Conclusions : The results show that combined Korean Medical treatments including acupunctrure therapy and herbal medicine could be an effective way to relieve multiple joint pain and fatigue due to systemic lupus erythematosus.
