| Objectives : This study was conducted to show the clinical effectiveness of Korean medicine treatment including acupotomy on the patients having lumbar spinal stenosis. Methods : Three patients with lumbar spinal stenosis were treated with Korean medicine treatment including acupotomy. Visual analogue scale(VAS) and a few physical examinations(straight leg raise test, manual muscle test, etc) were used to assess the effect. Results : The patients' VAS and a few physical examinations of the lumbar pain improved remarkably. In Case 1, VAS decreased from 6 at admission to 2.1 at discharge, from 6 to 2.7 in Case 2, and from 7 to 2.8 in Case 3. Additionally, in Case 3, it was confirmed that hypoesthesia in the lower extremities improved. Conclusions : This study shows that Korean medicine treatment including acupotomy had an analgesic effect for patients having lumbar pain caused by lumbar spinal stenosis.
